Moving Right Along

Here is another update. Being a stay at home mom now really does wonders on my stitching. I can't believe how much I can get done in one day. Of course the rest of the day is spent entertaining my daughter, which I'm enjoying so much. When the weather warms up a bit more though, I believe we'll be spending the majority of the days outside. I can't wait for summer. Way up here in Northern Maine, it is another month away.

Progress as of 7-11-09

I am really enjoying MW. Even DH likes this one although he questions some of my colors..men. We're both amazed that she was only 9 years old when she started this. I've tried to stick to the way it is charted and can really empathize with her struggle as some of the motifs are a certainly a challenge. LOL

I wish to thank Needleprint and Shari of the USA blog for all of your encouragement, support and especially the resources you have provided. This has been my most enjoyable SAL.Thanks a bunch.

Mary Wigham progress

I've tried to stick to the way it is charted and can really empathize with Mary. She must have struggled with some of the motifs a few have certainly been a challenge. Even DH likes what I have done so far and he is not person that likes abstracts. My tastes must be rubbing off on him. :-))

Mary - Week 6

I've stitched 2/3 , three more weeks and it will be finished. It will be a sweet and sour finish, I've developed a special love with this piece and even when I want to see it done I will definitely miss working on her

I see more Mary's and just cant make up my mind for colors. The latest pic added to Needleprint's site from Christine is just wonderful. Then looking at the others sent in, I saw Marion's (in greens & creams) and lost it.

I wasnt keen on using the original colors, had a conversion that used more muted colors in VC silks. And while getting my mind bent over what fabric to use, Im questioning the colors Ive chosen so far.

I do have plans to toss floss this weekend so I guess I will be going back to the drawing board with the floss as well.

Haven't started yet, but...

Hi everyone,

I can't wait to start MW, but my fabric is stored in my guestroom which is currently occupied by my sister. "Occupied" doesn't begin to describe the condition of the room. "Suitcase explosion" isn't even descriptive enough. How about "Massive Luggage Vocanic Eruption". Whatever, I can't get to the drawer with my linen or the closet with my fibers. If I'm lucky I'll be in there on Sunday night putting the project together.

I plan to use either 36 or 40 count of one of my many pieces of hand-dyed vintage-looking linen. And probably a dark green Splendor. Not cast in stone yet though.

So don't get too far ahead of me. Of course, I'm still working on "Grace Mason", so it's not like I have nothing to do! Feel free to check out my progress on GM. http://stitchingandbeading.blogspot.com/
